Joseph Kenny was in the employ of the Marquette Cement Manufacturing Company as a laborer at its factory, which part of the witnesses place at Oglesby and others at Portland, in LaSalle county. It ground stone and manufactured cement, and had much machinery and many appliances for the purpose of conveying power to the different parts and floors of its factory. About a year before the accident here involved it moved a counter-shaft to a certain place on the third floor of the finished end, as it is called.
