¶ 1. The petitioner, Jeffrey A. Warbelton, seeks review of a published court of appeals decision affirming his conviction for stalking. Under Wis. Stat. § 940.32(2m)(a) (2001-02), 2 whoever commits the crime of stalking is guilty of a Class H felony if the actor has a previous conviction for a violent crime. Warbelton stipulated that he had been convicted of a prior violent crime. Over his objection, the stipulation was admitted into evidence and the issue was submitted to the jury for its determination.
