FLETCHER, Chief Judge:

The appellant was convicted of a 4 day absence without leave and two specifications of making false official statements in violation of Articles 86 and 107, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. §§ 886 and 907, respectively. He was sentenced to a bad-conduct discharge, confinement at hard labor for 1 month and reduction to the grade of Private E-l. The Army Court of Military Review approved the findings, and only so much of the sentence as provided for confinement at hard labor for 1 month and reduction to the grade of Private E-l. We granted…
