The original information herein was filed in the circuit court of Cook county July 29, 1912, by the Attorney General, on behalf of the State, and the second amended information on February 2, 1916. Both the original^ and amended informations charged appellees with the erection of piers and other unlawful structures upon the submerged lands constituting a part of the bed of Lake Michigan and with the appropriation of a part of said submerged lands to private uses.
