COMPTON, Chief Justice.
The decisive question is whether compensation benefits payable under the Workmen’s Compensation Act, § 59-10-1 et seq., 1953 Comp., for injuries sustained during coverture, are community assets.
The parties were married in November, 1947. On or about January 5, 1953, while employed by El Paso Natural Gas Company in Farmington, appellee sustained an accidental injury which rendered him totally and permanently disabled, and since has been drawing weekly benefits of $30.
