OPINION

CONNOR, Justice.

Donovan McGee appeals from his convictions for assault with a dangerous weapon (AS 11.15.220) and malicious destruction of property (AS 11.20.515). The events leading to his convictions are as follows.

On July 6, 1977, at approximately 5:30 p. m., Mark Goodson was driving an Alyeska truck in a northerly direction along the Richardson Highway. He was accompanied by Ricky McFarlin. A few miles north of Isabel Pass at approximately mile 201 of the Richardson Highway, a black Ford pickup pulled alongside of them. The person riding in the passenger seat of the pickup shouted…
