Appellant Alfonzo Brown was convicted of first-degree battery, possession of a firearm, aggravated assault, and failure to appear; the jury sentenced Brown as an habitual offender to forty years’, fifteen years’, fifteen years’, and thirty years’ imprisonment, respectively. The trial court ordered that the sentences be served consecutively for a total sentence of 100 years’ imprisonment. Brown’s sole point on appeal is that the decision to run his sentences consecutively was made arbitrarily and without discretion. As Brown did not make this argument to the trial…
