WILLIAM S. RUSSELL, Special Judge.

Len Martucci is serving a life sentence for the first degree murder of Patricia Miles in *948Anderson County on January 19, 1988. He appealed the conviction to this court and the judgment of the trial court was affirmed on April 3, 1990.

On September 18, 1991, Martucci filed pro se a 185 page typewritten petition for post-conviction relief and also moved the court for the appointment of counsel.

On September 20, 1991, the trial court appointed J. Michael Clement, a member of the Anderson County bar, to represent the petitioner. A status hearing was set for…
