LESLIE BROCK YATES, Justice.

We withdraw our opinion of July 11, 2002, and substitute the following opinion. A university professor sued the university and several administrators, alleging that his constitutional rights were violated in connection with the termination of his employment. Following a jury trial, the trial court entered judgment in favor of the professor, ordering the university to reinstate him to his former position and awarding him back pay, attorney’s fees, and costs.
