The plaintiff in error, defendant below, F. Paul Baldwin, was convicted of violating the Illinois Securities Law, Ill. State Bar Stats. 1935, ch. 32, 254-296; Jones Ill. Stats. Ann. 13.01-13.54, on March 31, 1936, in a trial before the county court of Jackson county, trial by jury being waived, and sentenced to the Illinois State Farm at Vandalia, Illinois, for a period of six months and was sentenced to pay a fine of $1,000.
