Case Summary
Bartholomew County and the Bartholomew County Commissioners (collectively, “the County”) contracted with two companies to design and construct a replacement bridge on a county road. After the bridge was constructed, Doug and Lucretia Johnson’s nearby property was damaged by flooding. The Johnsons filed a complaint against the County, alleging that it had negligently designed, constructed, maintained, and operated the bridge, which contributed to the flooding.
