On April 29, 1931, Hall County, acting by a majority of the County Board of Roads and Revenues, entered into a contract with the State Highway Department, whereby the county agreed to “improve and construct” 3.440 miles (in Hall County) of a road extending from Gainesville in Hall County to Dawson-ville in Dawson County, which had been designated by the State Highway Department as a part of the State-aid System of highways and called State-aid Project 809.
