This is a suit on a forfeited appeal bond. It appears from the record that one Joe Bug Roquemore was indicted, charged with murder in the first degree. Before trial the first time he did not seek to be released on a bail bond, but remained in jail until tried. When tried, on May 26, 1908, he was adjudged guilty of murder in the second degree and his punishment assessed at ten years confinement in the State penitentiary. His motion for a new trial being overruled, he gave notice of appeal, and asked that the amount of his bail on appeal be fixed, and the court did so, fixing it in the sum of…
