Defendant was convicted by a jury of the crime of arson. In April, 1949, defendant secured fire insurance in the sum of $4,500 on a home located in Corona, comprising rooms numbered on a diagram in evidence as 1 to 10 inclusive. Title to the property was formerly in the name of defendant’s son, who, with defendant, was one of the eobeneficiaries of the policy. The house was leased to a Mr. 'Keys, who resided in it from April, 1949, to November, 1949.
