Appellant, Cody Wayne McKay, was convicted of injury to a 'child with the culpable mental state of criminal negligence after spilling hot water on the back of the two-year-old victim. Appellant was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, *268which was then suspended, and he was subsequently placed on community supervision, for five years.
