Defendant, Aaron Houston, was charged with armed robbery in violation of section 18 — 2(a) of the Criminal Code of 1961. 720 ILCS 5/18 — 2(a) (West 2002). Defendant was found guilty of this charge after a jury trial. The circuit court of Peoria County sentenced defendant to 20 years. Defendant appeals, claiming it was reversible error not to have a court reporter present during voir dire, the evidence admitted at trial was insufficient to prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, trial counsel was ineffective, and the trial court…
