This is an appeal from a judgment based on a directed verdict in a medical malpractice case.

The decedent checked into the Mobile Infirmary at 4:15 p.m., on July 5, 1981, for a voluntary heart catheterization, a diagnostic procedure to determine the extent of damage to the blood vessels of the heart resulting from a previous heart attack. The record reveals that the decedent was having chest pains when he checked into the hospital and that he was taking nitroglycerin tablets for that pain.
