The Northern Regional Headquarters of the United States Internal Revenue Service in Holtsville in the Town of Brookhaven is located in a building complex constructed by the town and leased to the General Services Administration of the United States Government. The annual rental for the property, which comprises 42 acres with parking facilities for 2,755 automobiles and buildings which can accommodate up to 4,700 employees, is $2,100,000, and the term of the lease is 20 years.
