This appeal presents a close question of child custody. The trial court concluded that the father should have custody, and the mother appeals.

Plaintiff Lee Anna Miller and defendant James D. Miller were married in June, 1959. Two daughters were born to them during their marriage, one in March, 1961, the other in April, 1963. In October, 1963, the plaintiff filed a complaint for divorce in Ingham county circuit court, seeking both temporary and permanent custody of the children.
