INTRODUCTION

The plaintiffs in this Title VII action- — • Diane O’Sullivan, Nancy Lipman, and Janice Roche — are all veteran police officers with the Chicago Police Department. They alleged that the Department discriminated against them based on their race and retaliated against them once they complained about it. After a two-week trial, the jury found for the City of Chicago on the racial discrimination counts and for the plaintiffs on their retaliation claims.
