delivered the opinion of the court:

The defendant, Bruce Oetgen, was charged by information with attempt rape, burglary and aggravated battery in violation of sections 8— 4,19 — 1, and 12 — 4 of the Criminal Code of 1961 (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1975, ch. 38, pars. 8 — 4, 19 — 1, and 12 — 4). Following a jury trial in the Circuit Court of Fulton County, defendant was convicted of all three crimes and sentenced to a term of not less than 2 nor more than 6 years for attempt rape, not less than 2 nor more than 6 years for burglary and not less than 1 year nor more than 3 years…
