TENNEY, District Judge.

As a result of certain incidents occurring during the course of a trial in the New York State Supreme Court, New York County, wherein petitioner was *1202named in an indictment charging him with four counts of extortion and one count of conspiracy,1 2a twelve-count information was filed in the Criminal Court of the City of New York on April 7, 1967, charging petitioner with various acts of criminal contempt in violation of Section 600(1) of the former New York State Penal Law, McKinney’s Consol. Laws, c. 40.*
