Paul Plante initiated this action under 42 U.S.C. §§ 1983 and 1985 alleging that the defendants entered into “a conspiracy to harass [him] and drive him from his position” with the Jacksonville, North Carolina, police department and subsequently “wrongfully discharged” him in violation of the fourteenth amendment.
