On April 28, 1950, the appellant was found guilty on each of four counts in an *839indictment on which he was tried by jury in the District Court for the Southern District of New York. The indictment charged violations of 18 U.S.C. §§ 2, 371, 472 and 473 by his conduct in respect to the same counterfeit Federal Reserve Bank notes as follows: In count one that he received the notes, in count two that he possessed them, in count three that he uttered or attempted to utter them, and in count four that he conspired with others to commit the offenses charged in counts one, two and…
