During June of 1998, appellant, an E-5, was tried by a general court-martial composed of officer and enlisted members at Travis Air Force Base in California. He was charged with one specification of wrongfully using methamphetamine, in violation of Article 112a, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC § 912a. He was found guilty of that offense and sentenced to a bad-conduct discharge and reduction to E-4.
