Defendant appeals from his conviction by jury of first-degree murder. He claims that the court erred in denying his motion for mistrial, which was based on the admission of a statement allegedly obtained in violation of his rights under Miranda v. Arizona, 384 U.S. 436 (1966). Defendant also contends that the court erred in failing to voir dire the jury about alleged misconduct by one of the alternate jurors.
