This suit is brought upon two promissory notes of the defendant’s, due in 1841 and 1842. The prominent' ground of defence is, a discharge in bankruptcy' under the act of Congress.

I-n support of this plea, the defendant offered' in evidence a transcript certified by the clerk' of the district court of the United' States for the southern district of Mississippi.
