Defendant appeals from a judgment of the City Court of East St. Louis entered on a jury’s verdict in the amount of $150,000 in a death case brought under the Federal Safety Appliance and Equipment Act, 45 U. S. C. A., Chapter 1. The complaint was in two counts, the verdict resting on Count II, which charged that the railroad cars of defendant involved in this accident were not equipped with couplers, operating automatically on impact.
