Maria Lopez, individually and on behalf of her minor children, sued El Palmar Taxi, Inc. for negligence, seeking to recover for injuries she and her children sustained while riding in a taxi displaying the El Palmar logo. Following discovery, El Palmar moved for summary judgment, claiming that the taxi driver, Mario Julaju, was an independent contractor and that it was not responsible for his actions. The trial court granted El Palmar's motion on that basis, and Lopez appeals. We agree with the trial court that El Palmar's liability cannot be established under the theory that…
