Defendant is charged in the captioned indictment with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and related offenses. On June 14, 2007 defendant filed a written motion to dismiss the indictment pursuant to GPL 30.30 on the ground that he had been denied the right to a speedy trial. The People opposed the motion to dismiss in their response filed on July 3, 2007. Defense counsel stated he would not submit a reply.
