delivered the opinion of the Commission of Appeals, Section A.

On October 1, 1909, H. T. Elder and wife executed and delivered a deed to the trustees of the African Methodist Episcopal Church of Kilgore, Texas, conveying one acre of land, which deed is as follows:

“The State of Texas, County of Gregg.
“Know all men by these presents: That we, H. T. Elder and his wife, Sarah E. Elder, of the County of Gregg, State of Texas, for and in consideration of the sum of Ten and No/100 Dollars, to us in hand paid by Curtis Booty, Frank Dodson, Peter Coxon, Wm. Baxter and Sam Moore,…
