On March 13, 1937, chapter 100, Laws of 1937, p. 406 (Rem Rev. Stat. (Sup.), § 113-1 et seq.), became effective as an emergency act of the legislature. The act purported to change the official title of the office of prosecuting attorney to “district attorney,” and provided for the appointment of “investigators” by the incumbents of that office in the various counties of the state. That portion of the act which provided for the change of name was declared unconstitutional in State ex rel. Hamilton v. Troy, 190 Wash. 483, 68 P. (2d) 413.
