I. STATEMENT OF CASE

Following a bench trial, the district court adjudged the defendant-appellant, Robert E. Swift, guilty of being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon, in violation of Neb. Rev. Stat. § 28-1206 (Reissue 1989), and of possessing with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, namely cocaine, in violation of Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 28-405(a)(4) [Schedule II] (Cum. Supp. 1992) and 28-416 (Cum. Supp. 1994). Swift thereupon appealed to the Nebraska Court of Appeals, asserting, among other things, that the district court erred in overruling his suppression motion.
