Appeal from an order of the Family Court of Broome County (Pines, J.), entered July 3, 2000, which, inter alia, dismissed petitioner’s application, in a proceeding pursuant to Family Court Act article 6, for custody of respondent’s children.
Respondent is the biological mother of David (born in 1985) and Jeremy (born in 1988). She and the children’s father, Gray-son Banks, were divorced in 1991 and, pursuant to joint custody arrangements, the children’s principal residence was with respondent.
