ROSENBAUM, District Judge.

Sidney Byas appeals the sentence imposed by the district court. 2 We affirm.

I. Background

On July 6, 2007, St. Louis police observed a car driving in violation of traffic laws. The vehicle was directed to the side of the road. The car carried a driver and two passengers, one of whom was appellant, Sidney Byas. The police ordered the occupants from the car. When he stepped from the car, Byas carried a loaded, stolen, .380-caliber semi-automatic pistol in his waistband.
