In this case we consider whether a trial court is required to obtain a conflict-of-interest waiver when criminal codefen-dants are represented by the same lawyer but there is no actual conflict of interest between the codefendants. The State of Florida seeks review of the decision of the First District Court of Appeal in Alexis v. State, 140 So.3d 616 (Fla. 1st DCA 2014), on the ground that it expressly and directly conflicts with a decision of this Court, Gorby v.
