This case arises out of a decade-long dispute relating to the development of an oil field in Kazakhstan. Plaintiffs-Appellants Jack J. Grynberg and several related entities (collectively referred to as “Plaintiffs”) allege that the Defendants-Appel-lees (collectively referred to as “Defendants”) committed certain unlawful acts in violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (“RICO”), 18 U.S.C. § 1962 et. seq., causing Plaintiffs injury (the “civil RICO claims”).
