This is an appeal from an order entered in the circuit court of Sangamon county granting an interlocutory or temporary injunction pendente lite, restraining appellant from further proceeding in the work of straightening the course of the North Fork of the Sangamon Biver. The averments in the original bill, in so far as they are material to be considered on this appeal, are in substance as follows: that the complainant, City of Springfield, has a population of about 70,000 inhabitants, embraces an area of 11 square miles and is situated about 2 miles south of the Sangamon Biver, which flows in…
