Liability of the plumbing contractor. In the course of performing work for the owner of property abutting West Villard avenue, Wichman was required to dig a trench across the westbound roadway. He secured a permit from the city to do so, which, in turn, required him to fill the trench in compliance with certain specifications. After the fill was completed, a city inspector looked at it and approved it.
