The defendant appeals from the trial court’s order granting the plaintiff’s motion to modify the unallocated alimony and support order. The defendant also filed a separate appeal from the trial court’s partial granting of his motion for modification. The trial court rendered its decision on both motions following *2a joint hearing on July 9,1990. The two appeals were consolidated, by order of this court, on August 3,1990.
