MEMORANDUM DECISION

JUDITH A. BOULDEN, Bankruptcy Judge.

The debtor deposited the proceeds from a personal injury settlement into her bank account shortly before filing, but she failed to disclose either the settlement proceeds or the bank account on her statements and schedules filed seven days later. The Chapter 7 trustee subsequently discovered the undisclosed assets and sought turnover of the settlement proceeds to the estate. After months of delay, the debtors finally amended their schedules by first listing the settlement proceeds as an asset and then amending to claim the funds as exempt…
