When the instrument purporting to be the last will of Bertha Freedman was presented for probate by the named executor (Maynard Ross), the decedent’s daughters, Gloria and Sybil, recoiled. Except for legacies of $500 each to Gloria and Sybil, this instrument left the decedent’s entire estate (estimated to have a value of about $55,000) to their sister Lillian (the wife of Maynard). An earlier purported will had divided the decedent’s estate in equal shares among the three daughters.
