In this action, the respondent, Hirst, recovered against the appellant, Standard Oil Company of California, for personal injuries received in an automobile collision. The collision causing the injuries occurred at the-inter section of Second avenue and Cedar street, in the city of Seattle, each being a public street of that city. The streets intersect at a right angle. Second avenue extends north and south, and Cedar street east and west from the place of the collision. Double street car tracks extend along both streets.
