ERICKSON, Justice.

The defendant, Gary Michael Gibson, appeals his conviction for second-degree assault. Section 18-3-203(l)(f), C.R.S. 1973 (1978 Repl. Vol. 8). He asserts that the trial court erred in refusing to instruct the jury as to his good faith, but his unreasonable belief that he acted in self-defense. He also claims that the jury should have been instructed as to the lesser offense of third-degree assault. We affirm.
