Three separate indictments were returned by a grand jury of Jefferson County charging appellant, inter alia, with unlawfully possessing 9.68 milligrams of heroin, and with unlawfully selling, furnishing or giving away 50.39 and 98.9 milligrams, respectively, of heroin, a narcotic drug, to a named vendee, contrary to and in violation of the provisions of Act No. 1407 of the 1971 Regular Session of the Alabama Legislature, otherwise known as the Alabama Uniform Control Substances Act, and further alleged that each offense took place subsequent to September 15, 1971 (the effective…
