JOHNSON, J.
Plaintiff Kathryn Castaneda brought this medical malpractice action against the physicians who provided her with care and treatment before, during, and immediately after her birth. She alleged defendants’ negligence caused her to suffer brain damage which resulted in mental retardation. The trial court granted a nonsuit in favor of defendant Machikawa, the consulting “OB/GYN” and defendant Wang, a pediatrician who treated plaintiff immediately after her birth.
