OPINION AND ORDER DENYING PETITION FOR A WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS

EDMUNDS, District Judge.

Petitioner Sylvester Pearl, a state prisoner presently confined at the Mound Correctional Facility in Detroit, Michigan, has filed a petition for a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254. Petitioner was convicted of second-degree murder and felony firearm following a jury trial in the Jackson County Circuit Court in 1997.
