Plaintiff commenced this common law tort action in Massachusetts Superior Court on December 22, 1989. On June 11, 1991, defendant filed a petition for removal under 28 U.S.C. § 1441, alleging diversity jurisdiction under 28 U.S.C. § 1332(a).
