Plaintiff John Williams (“Williams”) commenced independent actions pursuant to the Connecticut Product Liabihty Act, Conn.Gen. Stat. § 52-572m (1988) against Rheem Manufacturing Co. and Rheem Textile Systems, Inc., on the one hand, and Hoffman/New Yorker, Inc., on the other, in Connecticut Superior Court in 1994.
