The parties here appear in the same position as in the trial court and will be referred to as plaintiff and the Board.

*721The pivotal question for our decision is whether the defendant, the Board of County Commissioners of Okfuskee County, Oklahoma, had the power and authority to reduce the -monthly salary of plaintiff as fixed under a contract of employment with the County Superintendent of Public Instruction of said County.
